| Magical Island - a brief history. |
Ibiza was a part of a mountain range formed when the continental plates of Africa and Eurasia collided.
Around 5 million yrs ago, the natural dam that separated the Atlantic from what was the Mediterranean basin, broke and the Mediterranean Sea was born as it remains today.
Pirates used Ibiza as a storage place to stash booty looted from far away places like S. America. These pirates were responsible for the unscathed mighty wall of Ibiza Town which still exists. Today, Ibiza is considered the clubbing capital of the world ! |
